STAFF EXCELLENCE RECOGNISED WITH LAUNCH OF O'BRIEN CONTRACTORS EMPLOYEE AWARD
O'Brien Contractors are delighted to announce the launch of their Employee of the Quarter Awards, the first of which was presented in December 2007. The awards will recognise the achievement of employees, and will be made for outstanding commitment, professionalism, attitude towards the company and colleagues and willingness to go the extra mile. Groundworker David Comber was the first employee to receive the award, and was presented with a certificate and cheque for £500 by Managing Director Peter O'Brien. David was nominated for the award by Project Manager Tony Hughes, who was impressed by his hard work, conscientious attitude and good workmanship, commenting: "David has not only shown an excellent appreciation of the building environment and attention to detail, but has contributed to the success of the project through the highly professional way in which he works with colleagues and clients." David, who has worked for O'Brien Contractors for 12 months, added: "Being nominated as Employee of the Quarter is a great experience. It was particularly rewarding as this will be the first time anyone receives the award, and because the standard of work across the whole team is so high." O'Brien Contractors invest heavily in staff opportunities, particularly in key areas such as professional development. As a result, Managing Director Peter O'Brien expects that there will be strong competition for each of the quarterly awards, commenting: "O'Brien Contractors pride ourselves on the high quality of our staff. They have been integral to the growth of the company over the past 50 years, and will be key to our ongoing success in the future. The Employee of the Quarter Award is our way of recognizing and rewarding excellence, either in daily operational work or in important areas such as Health and Safety."
